1. Introduction
Special Education Services d/b/a Menta Education Group (“Menta”) is committed to privacy. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at www.Menta.com and all sites contained within that domain (the “Website”). Please read this Policy carefully. By accessing or utilizing the Website or any related services, you agree to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, including this Policy, please refrain from visiting our Website.
In this Policy, “Personal Information” means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, or certain online identifiers. Personal information does not include aggregate information or de-identified information, meaning that the information can no longer be attributed to an identifiable natural person without the use of additional information.
The Website may contain links to other websites that are not covered by, and do not operate in accordance with, this Policy. 2. Use of Personal Information.
Menta respects your privacy and the Personal Information you share with us when you visit the Website and follows generally accepted standards to protect Personal Information provided to us. For instance, should you decide to provide your contact information, you will be asked to provide your name and email address. All of that information is encrypted using SSL, an industry standard secure technology. This encryption is designed to prevent the theft or interception of the information you provide. SSL encryption is indicated on your Web browser by the display of a lock or key on the browser status bar. However, the Internet is a global communications vehicle open to threats, viruses, and intrusions from others. We cannot promise, and you should not expect, we will be able to protect your Personal Information at all times and in all circumstances.
Except as set forth in this Policy, we do not collect Personal Information about you when you visit our Website, unless you voluntarily choose to provide such information. This Policy describes how Menta uses and handles certain information we learn about you from your visit to the Website. Menta is located in the United States. Regardless of where you are located when you access the Website, we will process your Personal Information (as set forth in this Policy) in the United States. The laws of the United States governing data protection may not be as comprehensive or as protective as the laws in the country where you are located.

3. Types of Information.
A. Information You Provide.
If you submit Personal Information, it is used only for the purpose stated at the time of collection to conduct official Menta business, such as notifying you of events and information related to Menta that may be of interest to you.
B. Cookies and Similar Technologies
When you visit the Website, we may assign your computer one or more cookies to facilitate access to the Website and to personalize your online experience. A “cookie” is a small text file that is stored on your computer for record keeping purposes. Cookies can be either session cookies or persistent cookies. A “session cookie” expires when you close your browser and is used to make it easier for you to navigate the Website. 4. SMS Policy
This SMS Policy (the “SMS Policy”) governs how we treat the information that we collect and receive from you in connection with your use of our mobile phone communication SMS Services (“SMS Services”), which we make available to you through a third-party service provider. The terms of the Privacy Policy are also incorporated within this SMS Policy.
By using SMS Service, you agree to the terms of the SMS Policy. Menta reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify or change this SMS Policy at any time with or without prior notice to you. The date of the last update will be posted at the top of the Privacy Policy for your convenience. This SMS Policy, and any changes, are effective as soon as posted. Your continued use of the SMS Service following the posting of any changes to the SMS Policy constitutes your full acceptance of those changes.
A. Information Collected through SMS Services
Through the use of SMS Services, Menta will receive the following information (“SMS Information”) from our third party SMS service provider: your mobile phone number when you send a text message to us, the text of messages that you send to other users of the SMS Services, as well as any comments or feedback regarding the SMS Services that you send to us.
B. How Menta uses SMS Information
We use your SMS Information to (a) provide you with SMS Services, (b) process and respond to inquiries, (c) improve SMS Services, (d) communicate directly with you pertaining to you or your child’s education; and (d) if necessary, contact you with important announcements or messages.
Each message that you send through SMS Services (either to us or to other users of SMS Services) is stored securely on our service provider’s servers. We retain these messages on our service provider’s servers.
C. Disclosure of your information
We will not share any Personal Information or SMS Information collected through your use or interaction with SMS Services.
D. Security
Menta takes precautions to ensure the security of your SMS Information, including ensuring that our third-party service providers protect the security of your SMS Information. However, we cannot guarantee that hackers or unauthorized personnel will not gain access to your SMS Information despite our efforts. You should note that in using SMS Services, your information will travel through third party infrastructures which are not under our control (such as a third-party SMS delivery platform or your carrier network).
We cannot protect, nor does this SMS Policy apply to, any information that you transmit to other users. You should never transmit personal or identifying information to other users.
E. Opting in
A mobile user might opt-in by:
- Entering or providing Menta a phone number online;
- Filling out a form that includes their phone number; or
- Provide a phone number directly to a Menta teacher or other Menta administrator.
F. Opting Out
Menta’s third-party service provider gives you the ability to opt out of the Service for any reason. You can opt out by texting “STOP” to the originating phone number. Alternatively, you can also contact a Menta teacher or administrator directly and inform them that you no longer wish to receive the Service.
G. Minors using SMS Services
The Service is not intended for children under 13. Children aged 13 or older should not submit any Personal Information without the permission of their parents or guardians. By using the Service, you are representing that you are at least 18, or that you are at least 13 years old and have your parents’ permission to use the service.
H. Intended audience.
Menta requires that users of its SMS Services be limited to US residents only.
5. No Third-Party Rights.
This Policy does not create rights enforceable by third parties.
