At Mid-State Cornerstone Academy, the pursuit of our ‘3-C Ready’ vision—to cultivate College, Career, and Citizenship readiness—is at the heart of our educational mandate. We are committed to an educational model that is as unique as the individual needs and developmental stages of each of our students. It’s our goal to ensure that every learner is given the tools and support to unlock their fullest potential.

The classrooms at Mid-State Cornerstone Academy are dynamic and interactive, fostering an environment where educational and behavioral milestones are achieved with regularity. We believe that an active learning environment is critical for the cultivation of a young person’s academic and social skills. Our educators are dedicated to daily nurturing these skills, thereby empowering our students to succeed and to become proactive, informed, and responsible members of society.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can my child attend your school?

Children are placed at Mid-State Cornerstone Academy (Nokomis) through the home or attending school with the child’s IEP team. The school determines that they are unable to support the student at their campus and a recommendation is made for the student to receive their services in a Level D placement. The parent, student and administrator will review the IEP and additional information and determine if our school is the best option for supporting the students needs.

Does your school suspend or expel students?

As a special education private day program, we KNOW that all students need to be in school everyday. We do not suspend or expel our students for any reason and we Never Give Up on our students.

Do you provide transportation?

We offer transportation services through the Home School District and our own private transportation services. Please contact the school administrator for more information.

Does my child have to have an IEP to attend your school?

Yes, an Individualized Education Plan is developed by a team that includes the child, their family, teachers, counselors, and other educational professionals.

Do you provide counseling services and other related services?

Every school in our organization provides counseling services to students that require counseling services. In addition we offer Speech and Occupational therapy as identified by the child’s IEP.
