At Menta Academy Verde Valley, we believe that every child has the right to a high quality education.
The Menta Group® has partnered with school districts in the Verde Valley to provide services for students diagnosed with disabilities at the Menta Academy Verde Valley.
The Verde Valley program provides students with an opportunity to participate in a modified curriculum tailored to meet their individual learning needs. Menta provides therapeutic supports embedded in the program to teach the social, behavioral, and academic skills students need to be successful in school, community, and careers.
Student academic programming includes an emphasis on core content including mathematics, reading, and writing. Students are eligible to attend the program based upon recommendation from an Individualized Education Program (IEP) team with input from teachers, parents, school psychologist(s), the Director of Special Services, and related service providers (as appropriate).
Students receive consistent positive behavior intervention supports (PBIS) as part of the daily programming. Each student participates in a social emotional curriculum including a leveled point system that provides students with an opportunity to access positive reinforcement and learn about the natural consequences of poor behavior choices.
A chief goal of the Menta program is to support student reintegration to their respective home schools. The program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in less restrictive settings. Any decision made to reintegrate a student into a less restrictive placement will be determined by an IEP team and based on the review of specific exit criteria outlined in the student’s IEP.
