Our educational model is designed using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework. UDL provides flexible methods, materials, and assessments to help teachers differentiate instruction and meet the unique needs of all students. Our curriculum is rigorous, relevant, and reflective. It is mapped to the Common Core Learning Standards, thus providing educators with valuable information about curricular strengths and weaknesses to support continued improvement. We emphasize personalization, preparation for life, and support for success.
- Personalization: We create a personalized system of education that engages and motivates all students, regardless of his or her circumstances. We use a data-driven framework to set goals, assess progress, and ensure that all students receive the academic and developmental supports necessary for success in school and in life. We believe in the power of authentic student voice in directing and owning their individual learning as well as shaping the nature of their educational experience among their peers.
- Preparation for Life: Our goal is to prepare each student for life beyond school by ensuring readiness for post-secondary education, meaningful employment, and engaged citizenship. To achieving this goal, teachers use performance-based learning strategies that place all students at the center of the learning process, enabling them to demonstrate mastery based on high, clear, and commonly held expectations. We also emphasize anytime, everywhere learning opportunities (Real World Learning) that provide constructive learning experiences in all aspects of students’ lives.
- Supports for Success: We understand that education requires a focus on the whole child and not on academic achievement alone. We implement a comprehensive system of learning supports that address social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development along a continuum of services to ensure the success of all students.
